SeeHow - Veg
SeeHow’s latest gardening book is now out! SeeHow – Veg was launched at the @RHS Hampton Court Flower Festival on 01 July 2025. It is the culmination of 9 month’s graft preparing illustration showing the lifecycle of 107 of the most widely grown vegetables.
SeeHow – Veg … 107 veg, each one illustrated to show its growth cycle over the whole year – from January to the left side to December on the right side … and all info required to successfully grow each one is provided on the back of each illustration.
Quite simply, all SeeHow gardening books make gardening much easier by actually showing the whole lifecycles of each plant and veg. While most gardening books are 10% pictures and 90% words, SeeHow gardening books are the opposite – 90 pictures and only 10% words – which is surely what we all want. The old proverb is true, ‘a picture really is worth 1,000 words’! And who doesn’t want to see exactly how a plant or veg will grow throughout the year?
SeeHow – veg, is packed with useful information to help anyone grow their favourite veggies … even a complete beginner. And it is perfect for children who more-easily understand pictures than words.
SeeHow’s unique graphic concept makes its gardening books perfect for everyone – from children learning in their school gardens, to allotmenteers who would like to see what to expect when they plant their veg, to professional garden designers. They are perfect for planning successional growing, to ensure a steady year-round supply of young tasty veg. And with all of the technical information provided on the back of each illustration, all you need to do is follow what is written on the back to enjoy eating what is show on the front!
107 Veg fully illustrated from January to December. Use SeeHow - Veg to avoid vegetable gluts.

SeeHow – Veg … comes with essential vegetable growing tips. Follow the suggestions to grow the best veg possible. The section on microclimates is highlighted in blue.
Microclimates are so important. They can be tiny – using a small cloche or even a cut-down plastic water-bottle or much larger, using a greenhouse or polytunnel. Here on the north Aberdeenshire coast we are lucky to have one of the best general microclimates in the UK for growing flowers and vegetables. And property is not expensive! Come and enjoy the good-life!
Our broad beans will be ready to crop shortly. Cabbages to the right. Our broccoli turned to flowers while we were at the @RHS Hampton Court Flower Festival, but the bees are loving it!
Somewhere in the chaos there are different types of lettuces, endives, onions, garlic, leeks and some herbs. The edible nasturtiums self-seeded, so we left them. The curry plant seems very happy and the lovage is over 2m tall. The bees love the nasturtium flowers and we love the colour too!
Happy vegetable growing from SeeHow’s own (slightly chaotic) garden :-)
